When I hear the advice, "do hard things", I normally attribute it to physical challenges that build physical strength.
However, there is also a mental aspect to which we have to heed the same type of thinking.
There is no doubt that thinking long-term is difficult, and it is much easier to act in the moment.
Morgan Housel says, "Long-term is harder than most people imagine, which is why it is more lucrative than many assume."
Everything compounds. (good and bad)
Long-term thinking is crucial for several reasons:
Improved decision-making by considering the long-term implications.
Sustainability from long-term planning and adaptability to changes.
Builds resilience by helping prepare us for the unpredictable future.
Life is long (hopefully) and every decision matters, probably more than we think.
