It appears official; everyone is in Sales.
In Daniel Pinks "To Sell is Human" he quotes the data that in America:
1 out of 9 people are in the traditional sales role. (100% sales focused)
The other 8 out of 9 in "non-selling" roles needed to use the Sales skill sets for "persuading, influencing or convincing" a minimum of 41% in their work, and was a major component for being able to do their job effectively.
That's 9 out of 9 workers in America needing Sales skills, and the worst thing possible is being unaware of the fact that you are in Sales, and what is required.
It could also explain why so many people and companies struggle to be effective.
Developing any skill (which can be accomplished by anyone) takes not only awareness, but most importantly, Effort.
